Why choose me?

A CPA firm providing income tax preparation and advice for individuals, small businesses, farms and other entities. Registered with Accountancy Board of Ohio, individually and as a CPA firm (license numbers CPA.25187 and 43725019.TC). I have been preparing tax returns part-time since 1998 and advising businesses since 1988, expanding in 2023. Now serving 300 clients. I am a member of the AICPA and the Ohio Society of CPAs.

I make it a point to understand my clients needs to provide the best overall advice around tax and other financial considerations, working with client financial advisors and other professionals. Included in my clients are businesses operating in farming, retail property management, transportation, manufacturing and specialized service areas (lawyers, doctors, therapists, consulting and country clubs). I also work with people receiving oil and gas royalties; and I can assist with accounting system setup.

About me

I am CPA and owner of The Tax Lobby CPA firm, where I work with individuals and small organizations. Throughout my career I’ve worked with individuals and institutions in many industries. I look for ways to meet their goals and be successful. 

I began my career in public accounting in 1988 with Ernst & Whinney (later Ernst & Young) where I worked in the Entrepreneurial Services Group serving smaller sized clients in software, manufacturing, cellular telecommunication; and with additional clients in higher education, not-for-profit, transportation, and mining and minerals. I also served as an information systems auditor.

I worked a few years in a startup software company where I served as the Controller and Director of Systems & Services. We went through several rounds of private capital funding; and grew from 11 to 40 employees while I was there. 

I then started at Muskingum University (then Muskingum College) in 1996, retiring in 2023 as the Vice President for Finance & Operations and Treasurer. I worked with all of the University's finances, its facilities, information technology, human resources, risk management and University Police. We accomplished many things while I was at Muskingum, but the best part was being part of this southeastern Ohio community of Cambridge/New Concord/Zanesville and the people I've met and worked with. 

I have served on boards of local businesses and charitable organizations and look forward to working with you.
